A versatile case packer for coffee bags
UCC is a major company operating in the coffee industry, producing both ground coffee and whole beans, among other products. Product quality and attention to final presentation are core elements of the brand, which are also reflected in the company’s packaging choices.
The client turned to Senzani seeking a secondary packaging solution capable of handling two different packaging styles — wrap-around and tray-and-lid cases— without the need for separate machines. This requirement was particularly demanding, considering the wide range of products to be handled: coffee bags in multiple formats and configurations.
The solution developed is a CPWA18, a dual-mode case packer which can perform case filling both in wrap-around and tray-and-lid mode, thanks to two dedicated blank magazines integrated into a single machine with a compact footprint of just 5 × 4 meters. This CPWA can handle 20 different recipes — with formats ranging from 250 g to 1.2 kg, in single-row (4 or 6 units) or double-row configurations — reaching a filling speed of up to 18 cases per minute. Even the most complex format changeovers are completed in less than 45 minutes, ensuring uninterrupted production and uncompromised operational flexibility.
Customer satisfaction is demonstrated by the decision to rely on Senzani again for further supplies of the same solution.
