Cellini Caffè has been active in coffee roasting for more than 70 years and owns long-established brands in Italy such as Columbia, Filicori, and Eureka.
To strengthen its position in the coffee-capsule market, the company chose to rely on Senzani, which supported them with a complete consulting service—from production target analysis to marketing and sales strategies, including the study of the most suitable carton style and format.
The Customer’s specific needs were the guidelines to the design of customized packaging lines for loose capsules and capsules arranged in an ordered configuration.
The partnership resulted in the design and supply of two cartoning machines:
- a VCM vertical cartoner, capable of packaging DolceGusto-compatible capsules at a speed of about 35 cartons per minute for the classic 16-capsule format, alongside the 10-capsule format;
- a TLCM top-load cartoner, which packages Nespresso-compatible capsules at a speed of 600 per minute, corresponding to 60 cartons containing 10 capsules.
Senzani completed the line with a wrap-around case packer, which groups a defined number of cartons and packs them into a case formed from a flat blank. This case also functions as a display unit, allowing it to be placed directly on the store shelf to support an effective in‑store marketing strategy.
